Whitening is one of quickest and most effective ways to enhance and light up your smile.

But for now, here is some general information to provide you with a brief overview.

What is teeth whitening?

Teeth whitening is the use of professional dental products to make the shade of your teeth – which is  the colour of your teeth – whiter and brighter.

Why do so many people use whitening services?

Teeth that are whiter can help you be more confident, feel younger and achieve a brighter, healthier looking smile. Patients who have their teeth whitened report simply feeling better about themselves and more confident about their smile after their whitening treatment.

But different people have different reasons for exploring teeth whitening.  Some patients have their teeth whitened only for a special occasion.

Special occasion whitening.

Some patients have their teeth whitened when they have a special occasion for which they want to look their best or will be appearing in close up photos, such as birthday celebrations, an engagement party or wedding, family reunions, school reunions, a school formal or graduation ceremony, or family portraits.

How white will my teeth be after any whitening treatment?

The results of a whitening product will vary depending on the patient and the number of treatments.

But the general rule is that whitening can result in successfully transitioning your teeth to a shade that is up to 8 or 10 shades whiter that your current shade in one session or in one treatment.

Here is some brief information about the main two popular whitening services used very successfully in our practice.

One service is called ZOOM Whitening, and the other service is what we call a Whitening Tray.

The Zoom whitening service is fully delivered within our practice and is administered by our experienced dentists and hygienists.

The ZOOM treatment whitening gel is applied to your teeth and is then activated by using a dedicated ZOOM light.

The treatment is performed over 3 or 4 consecutive sessions of 15 minutes each.

While you are waiting for the whitening treatment to process, you can lay back and relax.

The treatment is pain free and easy.

TAKE HOME EASY WHITENING TRAYS  –  JUST LIKE A MOUTHGUARD!

The take home whitening tray process is simple and easy to use in the comfort of your home.

You will visit the surgery while we take an impression of your teeth. Then we produce a mouthguard for the purposes of being a whitening “tray”. When you come back to collect the tray we provide a demonstration on how to use the tray at home.

You simply add the whitening fluid we provide which is designed to achieve the shade enhancement we are looking for, to the “mouthguard style tray” which fits snuggly around your teeth and sit back and relax for the designated time frame, in the comfort of your home.

We ask you to pop in for a quick review after you have used the treatment at home to make sure the whitening fluid is achieving the desired effect.

Both the ZOOM whitening system and the at home whitening trays are an easy cost efficient way to achieve your whitening goal.
